“It’s not about you.  Jesus Christ is worth dying for.  It’s better for you to live a life with Christ, than to live a life with everything that this world has to offer and be separated from Him.” – Pete Wilson

“Worship is what pleases God, not what pleases us.” (CT)

Psalm 95:6 – Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!

John 4:23 – But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

Enjoying Time Off

Posted by doublec on February 23, 2007

Well, I am on vacation today and enjoying a much needed time of relaxation. Yesterday we packed up the family car and headed up to Illinois to visit with the In-Laws.  One of the most enjoyable parts of the visit so far has been seeing my newest and only niece and I must say she is an absolute beauty; second only to my daughter (and any of our future children).  Most of my morning was spent watching “Dora The Explorer” with my daughter and my afternoon has consisted of a bit of reading and a long over-due helping of the SciFi channel.  However, while taking a short break, I wanted to share two articles I’ve read recently by Father Jonathan Morris, a regular contributor to FoxNews.comScientology And Modern Pictures Of The Divine and Part II In Understand Scientology. Both of these articles are good reading and I encourage you to check them out.  I hope all of you have a excellent weekend, I’m off to watch “MythBusters!”

Heroes And Cowards

by Alicia Colon

“The total military dead in the Iraq war between 2003 and this month stands at about 3,133. This is tragic, as are all deaths due to war, and we are facing a cowardly enemy unlike any other in our past that hides behind innocent citizens. Each death is blazoned in the headlines of newspapers and Internet sites. What is never compared is the number of military deaths during the Clinton administration: 1,245 in 1993; 1,109 in 1994; 1,055 in 1995; 1,008 in 1996. That’s 4,417 deaths in peacetime but, of course, who’s counting?”

Moviemakers: Still In The Dark

Posted by doublec on February 16, 2007

By Rebecca Hagelin

“There’s nothing like a cold winter day to make you think about taking the family to the local multiplex and seeing a movie. Grab some popcorn, forget your worries for a couple hours, and enter that larger-than-life world of imagination and spectacle, of heroes and villains.”

“Warning: Your choices are going to be somewhat limited if your aim is wholesome family entertainment. What’s showing at the movies this week?”

Amazing Grace

Posted by doublec on February 15, 2007

Today I saw the trailer for Amazing Grace. This movie, which hits theaters on 2/23/2007, tells the story of William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd), a Christian Statesman who fought to abolish the slave trade in the British Empire.  Albert Finney stars along side Gruffudd as John Newton, the ex-slave trader turned minister and Wilberforce’s spiritual counselor.  Newton is most famous for writing the hymn “Faith’s Review and Expectation,” which is more commonly known as “Amazing Grace.”

Amazing Grace

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:4-9

Obama: Wasting His Own Breath

By Michelle Malkin

“At one of his opening presidential campaign events on the Iowa State University campus this weekend, Obama pandered energetically to the anti-war crowd. With his smooth voice rising and thousands of fans goading him on, he proclaimed: ‘We ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized, and should have never been waged, and to which we have now spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.’ “

“Yes, ‘wasted.’ Squandered. Pointless. Down the drain. Meaningless.”

Global Warming: What Are You Willing To Do?

Posted by doublec on February 9, 2007

by Pat Sajak

“Proponents of the theory (they would say “fact”) of man-made global warming are in the middle of a full-court press. The media are filled with stories on the subject, public service announcements have hit the airwaves, and politicians are climbing on the bandwagon.”
