Mississippi Braves Manager Has On Field Meltdown

Posted by doublec on June 5, 2007

Phillip Wellman

Wellman the Wildman

This is old news, however, it is still an entertaining story.  Phillip Wellman, minor-league manager of the Mississippi Braves, went crazy during the third inning of Friday night’s (June 2nd) game against the Chattanooga Lookouts.  The Braves manager was so mad that he began throwing bases and make-shift rosin grenades.  On Monday (June 4th) the Braves suspended Wellman, the first year Double-A manager, for three games for his antics in Friday’s game.

If you want to see Wellman’s entire meltdown, go to Google Video and type in “Mississippi Braves Manger.”
